The Buzz: With a grueling schedule of World Cup downhill and 4X races on his schedule, you'd think that Czech superstar Michal Marosi might skip Red Bull Rampage this year. But he can't resist the challenge. Michal came tantalizingly close to the podium at the 2003 Rampage contest, with brilliant runs in qualifying rounds as well as the finals, and he's eager to take it to a new level in 2004. No stranger to these shores, Michal has previously participated in NORBA contests and has even braved icy conditions for snow mountain biking at the Winter X Games. At home in the Czech Republic, he hosts "Marosana," a dirt jump, 4X, and freeride party that is one of the most anticipated events of the year. If Michal's third-place finish in this summer's Adidas Bike 'N' Soul Slopestyle competition is any indication, he'll be tearing it up at Red Bull Rampage.
Photo Ops: Michal was listed ninth among the "BMX Personalities of the Century" by the editors of Cesky Bikros magazine, and he is a multiple-time winner of Peloton magazine's mountain biking "Top Ten." His video appearances include Marosana Never Dies and Red Bull Rampage 3.
